Transport Planning Professional Qualification

IHT/TPS TRANSPORT PLANNING PROFESSIONAL (TPP) QUALIFICATION

Pilot Arrangements
Two TPP pilot assessments will take place during 2008; one in June and a second in December.
The June session is fully subscribed. The December session will be open to candidates who:
1) hold a UK Honours degree or equivalent plus a Transportation Masters degree, or
2) hold a UK Honours degree or equivalent and have satisfactorily completed a structured transport planning company training scheme, or
3) hold a UK Honours degree but have not completed a Transportation Masters or a structured company training scheme, or
4) do not hold a UK Honours degree or equivalent but have considerable transport planning experience.

Candidates in categories 3) and 4) must submit a Technical Report before going on to demonstrate their competence at professional review (see Guidance Notes Appendix B)

To register for the TPP, you must be a member of IHT or TPS (see respective websites for membership details). You will need to complete the Initial Registration Form and return it to IHT. You will then be contacted regarding assessment arrangements.

Fees
The candidate fee for the pilot assessments is £150. The fee should accompany your professional review application, which is the stage following initial registration.

If you are following the Technical report route, there is an additional fee of £75 for the assessment of the report.

Successful TPP candidates are listed on a TPP register, held by IHT and TPS, and are required to pay an annual registration fee (exact amount to be confirmed).
