About Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

An exclusive service to all IHT members, the Special Interest Groups (SIGs) provide opportunities for individuals to gain access to expertise and advice on key issues, and make contact with others in specialist areas.

The objective of the SIGs is to offer the opportunity for like minded specialists to set up an e-mail network where they can correspond with others to gain views/comment on issues relating to a specific topic area. In addition, to act as a focal point for other IHT members who may require answers or input to a particular issue or question that they are dealing with, but may not have the personal or in-house expertise to answer.

Each individual SIG site will host a library of Q&A’s so that visiting members can scan the site to see if their question has been previously answered before sending it to group members.

When you are registered for a particular SIG, you are given access to the questions and answers posted in all other SIGs. This will allow you to increase your own knowledge whilst sharing your expertise with other members. The time commitment is minimal and as the groups take place online, members can share knowledge irrespective of their geographical location.

The Special Interest Groups are open to members across all grades. Register your interest today to be kept informed of key developments.

Members are asked to sign up to the topic group for which they feel they can offer advice.

The groups are aligned with the IHT’s Technical Boards.

IHT want to develop a series of topical Special Interest Groups (SIG) that best matches the needs of its membership. We are therefore keen to receive feedback from members about the suitability of the current list of topic coverage for the groups and requests for new topic areas.
