Dave took up his appointment as Network Manager & Traffic Manager with Durham County Council in October 2004 having worked with Transport for London Street Management for 3½ years as Business Manager, Borough Manager, and latterly, acting Chief Engineer in the South & East Area Team. Previously, he had spent 10 years with Kent County Council, mainly in highway network management roles.
His current post encompasses highway development control and responsibility for producing Durham’s Transport Asset Management Plan, as well as the statutory “Traffic Manager” role defined in the Traffic Management Act 2004.
Dave is a chartered civil engineer and a member of the IHT Network Management & Operations Panel. He currently chairs the North of England Traffic Managers’ Group and represents the North East on the National Traffic Managers’ Forum and on the Traffic Officer Co-ordinating Committee.
